Welcome to our home, a typical Mayan hut nestled among exotic gardens. Each element inside and outside it will be explained in detail. Here you will learn about our traditional way of cooking: the way we will use local spices, aromatic herbs, and seasonal fruits, all-natural, from our garden to your table.
Our hosts, a pair of locals –called Mestizos- show the visitors the interior of their thatched cottage (chuck) where they make a living, hung the hammocks, cook their meals, the space where they eat, play, and family joined together. They will also show you the backyard and the hen’s corrals, the underground oven where they cook known as "pib"; and the traditional Mayan seeder known as "canché" where they plant their aromatic herbs for cooking.
Everything inside the house has a particular orientation and a singular use. During the activity, you will learn how to make corn tortillas and enjoy a delicious Mayan breakfast prepared to the moment for your delight, that includes Tacos de Cochinita Pibil.
