Arriving, you’ll go directly to Uxmal´s archaeological site, known by many as a place of legend and myth. Uxmal, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the greatest pre-Hispanic metropolitan and religious center for the Mayan people, now an archaeological site filled with beautiful vestiges that tell tales of the past. It is situated within a series of hills known as the Puuc, in Maya. A Gray Line-certified private bilingual guide will take you through this amazing archaeological site and show you the colossal constructions within the site like the Pyramid of the Magician, the Governors Palace, the Dove´s Temple and the Nuns Quadrangle. Uxmal is home to a unique group of vestiges. Amongst other ornamentations, the archaeological structures and buildings located throughout Uxmal are ornamented with geometrical figures and masks of the rain god, Chaac. This rain god was considered by the Maya people as one of the most important of their deities.
