Wonder at the Pyramid of the Magician, the only pyramid in either the New World or the Old with an elliptical base and rounded sides. Explore a half-dozen more incredible structures left behind centuries ago. Frank Lloyd Wright, America’s foremost architect during the 20th Century, considered Uxmal to be one of humanity’s grandest architectural achievements. Mayan designs inspired Wright’s famed Hollyhock House, the Ennis house and three more “textile block” houses in the Los Angeles Hills, as well as the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo (since demolished).
