Top Sights in Cancun You Won't Soon Forget

Playa Delfines

No list of the top sights in Cancun is complete without Playa Delfines. This stunning white-sand beach has everything you want to experience on Cancun's shoreline. The beach stretches for nearly 100 meters and features thatched palapas, turquoise waters, a playground, and even the colorful Cancun sign that's perfect for a photo-op! Unlike most beaches you can visit in the area, Playa Delfines is located at the end of the Hotel Zone, making it the perfect spot for peaceful relaxation.

Cancun Underwater Museum of Art

The waters between Cancun and Isla Mujeres are home to a spectacle like no other. Beneath the surface lies a little-known underwater realm that houses more than 500 life-size sculptures. Although seemingly eerie, the permanent structures are part of the Cancun Underwater Museum of Art. To get a closer look at these genius works of art, curious visitors can try scuba diving and snorkeling through the various lifelike displays or see them from above aboard a glass-bottom boat!

San Miguelito Archeological Site at the Mayan Museum of Cancun

South of Cancun's famous Hotel Zone, you'll find the ruins of an ancient city at the San Miguelito Archaeological Site. Dating as far back as 1250 A.D., the site features more than a dozen restored structures. Among the Mayan ruins rising out of the thick tropical jungle are Chaac Palace, a small pyramid, and numerous Mayan dwellings. To enter the site, visitors must purchase admission to the Mayan Museum of Cancun. This means that visitors can also browse a fascinating collection of Mayan artifacts, programs, and special galleries within the museum, in addition to exploring the one-of-a-kind San Miguelito archaeological site.
